International educators to visit KU

A group of international education professionals will visit the University of Kansas on June 1 as part of the annual NAFSA: Association of International Educators conference in Kansas City.

During the campus visit, one of three area campus visits offered to conference participants, the 83 visitors from 24 countries will stop at the KU Visitors Center, Lewis Residence Hall, Mrs. E’s dining facility and the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center and will attend open houses at International Programs, International Student and Scholar Services, the Applied English Center and the Office of Study Abroad. The group includes representatives from U.S. and overseas universities, including several KU partner institutions, international education organizations, EducationUSA advising centers in such countries as Bolivia, Ukraine and Peru, and cultural or education branches of Washington, D.C.-based embassies.

“NAFSA conferences have traditionally offered the opportunity for participants to visit campuses in the city or nearby region,” said Hodgie Bricke, assistant vice provost for International Programs. “But I have never heard of a campus visit for which so many delegates have registered. We are thrilled that so many of our colleagues in international education are eager to visit KU.
